If you are planning a bachelorette party or just some quality time with your girl friends. think St. Thomas in the beautiful US Virgin Islands. Just a short flight away from many US Cities like New York, Washington DC, Philadelphia, Boston, Atlanta, and Miami – to name a few, and since it is part of the United States of America, NO PASSPORT is needed for US Citizens.
And who doesn’t crave the Caribbean from time to time? Or all the time?
St Thomas offers lots of options for accommodations, from big brands like The Ritz Carlton and Marriott, to smaller places like family owned and managed, Bolongo Bay Beach Resort, for a fun, casual resort right on the beach. If you love the concept of an All Inclusive but have found that most All Inclusive resorts are catering to couples only, Bolongo Bay Beach Resort is the place for you and your friends to get-away. They brought All Inclusive to the Virgin Islands in 1988 and have perfected it ever since.
So what is there to do in the Islands?

There are lots of beautiful beaches. Visit Magens Bay on the north side, or Lindquist Beach with white sand and a beautiful view of St. John. This is a favorite for us locals and known to us as Lindquist Beach, although it was recently renamed Smith Bay Park – so that’s the sign to look for. No food and drink concessions, so you might want to stop in Red Hook and buy some drinks and sandwiches in advance.
St. John, just a short 15 minute ferry ride away at $7 per person each way is a wonderful day trip with it’s beautiful beaches, ruins, hiking trails and a quaint little town with great shops and restaurants. Make sure you stop by Mongoose Junction for lunch, drinks, and shopping.
Then when you are done beaching it, shop duty free in downtown historic Charlotte Amalie. Great prices on perfume, electronics, cameras, tobacco and more. A few that stand out are Ballerina, Cardow, Diamonds International, Boolchands, and so much more.
To relax and be pampered, enjoy a spa day, or hair, nails, make up at Sugar and Spice Artistry’s brand new salon located among yachts, shops and restaurants in Yacht Haven Grande.
Want some excitement? Experience the adrenaline charged, ultimate zip trip, Tree Limin’ Extreme Zipline Tour. This exhilarating zipline course is situated high in the rainforest of St. Peter Mountain. On your way down you will catch breathtaking views of Magen’s Bay, The British Virgin Islands and beyond… if your eyes aren’t closed…
Maybe an island tour of St. Thomas or St. John, Tropic Tours are the experts, and have very comfortable Safari buses, or visit Coral World Ocean Park, an underwater observatory, where you can Sea Trek, Snuba, swim with Sea Lions, watch sharks, turtles and more. There is great snorkeling at Coki Beach right outside.
Set sail for a Swim with Turtles half-day snorkel trip aboard Heavenly Days or sip cocktails on the Sunset Harbor Cocktail Cruise before returning for a sumptuous Lobster dinner at the Lobster Grille.
For live music, Iggies Beach Bar & Grill is a must on everyone’s trip to St. Thomas. Live music or Karaoke nightly, and for some local flavor stop by the Caribbean Carnival Extravaganza night on Wednesdays with a Mocko Jumbi stilt dancer, Caribbean music, and a fire eating, glass dancing show and limbo.
For late night bars and music, take a taxi to Red Hook where there are lots of bars & restaurants within walking distance of each other. Check out Caribbean Saloon, XO Bistro, Island Time Pub, Duffy’s Love Shack to start….
There are a lot of other things to keep you busy, but these are just a few to wake up your Island Spirit.
