There’s plenty of fun “tings” to do on St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands, especially when staying at Bolongo Bay. All kinds of activities from scuba diving to sailing can be undertaken right from the resort.
Bolongo Bay’s famous Snorkel Booze Hunt might be the best of these activities. It’s been featured by several media outlets, including bbc.com, and simply cannot be missed!
The resort staff has been hiding bottles of Cruzan Rum, the US Virgin Islands’ local brand, in the waters around St. Thomas for over three decades now. The activities schedule makes it easy to find the date and time that week’s hunt starts. Meet at the beach hut, then track down and find the hidden bottles of booze while snorkeling through the beautiful water. You were planning to snorkel while in the US Virgin islands anyway, so why not get a drink while you’re at it? There’s no extra charge to join the booze hunt, so it’s a great value!
The hunt is only open to Bolongo Bay’s hotel guests, so be sure to book a room before you visit St. Thomas. Because there’s only one bottle for every two participants, there is a limit of one bottle per room. When finding a second bottle, it’s better to leave it behind or give other guests hints to its location.
